In order to give a chance to the students to sharpen their mind and body, provision has been made to form associations, societies and forums in the respective departments of the college. Through these forums seminars, talks, quiz, debates, essay competitions and cultural activities are organized. These associations are constituted with the aim of promoting professional and social interests among its members and to exchange information.

 The membership of student associations shall comprise of

               The student members shall form the general body of the association. The Principal of the college is Patron of Student Associations. One or more senior faculty members of the college are nominated by the Principal to act as Advisor(s) of the Student Associations.

SIET students are having student associations viz Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) to promote the professional activities among the students. These societies work under the control of the Head of the Department or a person nominated by the Principal of the college.
               Students are also encouraged to become the members of other professional bodies, such as the Students chapter of the Institution of Engineers (IE India), Indian Society of Technical Engineers (ISTE), Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (IETE) and Computer Science India (CSI) etc. The students are free to participate in various prize-winning competitions and contribute papers for publication in journals.
